Donations and Support
As a non-profit organization,
the Brunswick Potomac Foundation relies on donations and other
outside contributions to remain open and continue to serve our
community. The foundation is a non-profit organization, and all donations are tax deductable.
There are many ways you can contribute:
| Artifact Donation
| Financial Donation
| Brick Walk
| Using the internet
| Memorial funds and Wills
| Volunteering
| Membership |
Every item has its own story, giving us a glimpse at the lives of the people who used them. Documents and records give details on how things may have been done differently in days gone by or offer information about people who would otherwise be forgotten. All museum exhibits consist of artifacts or donated items of some sort. Artifacts not used in museum exhibits are stored in our archives for research and preservation purposes. Not all artifacts are kept for storage or preservation. Items which do not have much historic signifigance or which the museum has a common collection of in the archives may on occasion be sold to allow for the purchase of materials and supplies to further preserve the items that remain in our care. This is neccessary due to both financial and space concerns.
Financial Donation
As a non-profit service organization, the Brunswick Potomac Foundation like many other similar organizations, has a number of required expenses with very little revenue-based income. Museum souveneir and admission sales cannot by themselves keep the museum open and pay for projects and improvements. Outright financial contributions of any amount help us keep our doors open to the public and allow us to continue preserving and better interpreting the unique and valuable history of the Brunswick area.Brick Walk Purchase
Started in 1997, the Brunswick Railroad Museum History Brick Walk is a fundraiser
specifically designed to help pay some of the costs involved in the museums future elevator installation. Each brick
costs $100 and can be inscribed with up to three lines of 15 characters. approximately $70 of the brick purchase
goes to the elevator fund.
